Accreditation and Licensure
The American University of Ras Al Khaimah has been officially licensed by the UAE’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR). All of the University’s 22 academic programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA).
AURAK is also working towards institutional accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), a regional body for accreditation of degree-granting institutions of higher education in the United States.
In August 2016, the School of Engineering’s B.S. in Computer Engineering and the B.S. in Electronics and Communications programs received accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Additional programs are currently in the process of gaining ABET accreditation.
The School of Business has become a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) which is the first step towards gaining accreditation.
