AURAK organize first Students Forum for Prevention & Safety as part of UAE National Program for the Prevention of Drugs “Siraj”

Under the patronage and presence of Major-General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the RAK Police, American University of Ras Al Khaimah in cooperation with Ras Al Khaimah Police and anti-Narcotics Department recently organized “Your Life … Your Choice” Forum, the first Students Forum for Prevention & Safety as part of UAE National Program for the Prevention of Drugs “Siraj”.

‘Siraj’ aims to raise awareness among the community and individuals about the dangers of abuse, pointing out that it affects the human being in four ways – happiness, companionship, coherent family and healthy body.

The event that was attended by general directors and heads of departments at Ras Al Khaimah police, and members from AURAK management, faculty and students, focused on the phenomenon of drugs and the ways to reduce its spread among students of schools, colleges, institutes and civil society in general. Drug awareness programs are primarily aimed at reducing the growing problem of drugs, and the aim of this forum is to ensure that young people in any society do not experience drug abuse, which helps to control drug traffickers.

Prof. Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, president, AURAK University said: “Organizing such important forums in cooperation with Ras Al Khaimah Police is part of the University’s efforts to educate its students about the dangers of drugs and their devastating effects on the individuals, families and society.”
