Newsletter - Issue 2          Academic Excellence, Redefined          November 2016

Welcome to the second issue of the American University of Ras Al Khaimah newsletter!

The university was typically busy during the summer months: two programs in the School of Engineering gained ABET accreditation, a new relationship with the University of Dubai was signed, a number of our faculty and staff members bid farewell to us, and award ceremonies celebrating our top students in academics and athletics were held.

September saw the start of the fall 2016 semester and a large influx of new students, staff and faculty. Professor Hamdan Al Alkim, announced that AURAK's application for membership to SACSCOC has been accepted, and the university is expecting a site visit in early spring 2017. October saw the 5th AURAK commencement ceremony take place on campus for the first time, and we received another visit from ABET - this time to review the B.S. in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering.

If you have any feedback or suggestions on how you believe the newsletter could be improved, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at pr@aurak.ac.ae.

Warm regards,
