Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering
The Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at AURAK provides students with a thorough and integrated education focused on shaping the future of the built environment. Our department offers two undergraduate degree programs: the Bachelor of Architecture and the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Both programs are meticulously designed to align with global educational standards and address the dynamic needs of their respective fields, equipping graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary for meaningful professional contributions.
The Bachelor of Architecture program is designed to meet the criteria established by the National Architecture Accreditation Board (NAAB), ensuring a curriculum of depth and relevance. It prioritizes the development of core competencies in sustainable design, modern building technologies, and environments centered on human experience. Students engage in practical learning through a combination of conventional techniques and state-of-the-art digital tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Building Information Modeling (BIM), 3D modelling and visualization software ensuring that graduates are proficient in the platforms used across the Architecture profession. The program emphasizes fostering creativity, practical functionality, and innovative thinking, equipping graduates to conceive eco-friendly structures and spaces that effectively integrate with both natural surroundings and urban landscapes.
The Civil Engineering program provides a robust academic foundation combined with practical exposure to tools and technologies that define the modern engineering landscape. Students in this program explore a wide array of civil engineering subfields, including Structural Engineering, Transportation and Pavement Engineering, Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and Construction Engineering and Management. The curriculum incorporates industry-standard software tools such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Synchro Traffic Simulation, SAFE, ETABS, Revit, and Building Information Modeling (BIM), ensuring that graduates are proficient in the platforms used across the civil engineering profession.
In addition to the core curriculum, both Architecture and Civil Engineering programs offer a unique option for students to pursue a Minor in Artificial Intelligence by extending their studies by one semester. These programs introduce students to machine learning, data analytics, and AI-driven sustainability practices, allowing them to solve complex engineering problems through innovative and data-informed approaches, to meet the current emerging industry trends. Students across both programs benefit from hands-on learning opportunities in well-equipped, state-of-the-art laboratories and studios. Beyond the classroom, students enhance their learning through field trips, industry-led workshops, guest lectures, and participation in faculty-mentored interdisciplinary research. These experiences not only strengthen technical and practical knowledge but also foster the critical thinking and collaboration skills needed for professional success.
Graduates of the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering are well-prepared to pursue careers in architecture, engineering design, consulting, planning, construction, and beyond. They are equipped to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development in the region and around the world through creative, technical, and data-driven solutions.
Join us at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering and become part of a dynamic and forward-thinking community committed to building a better future through innovative design and sustainable infrastructure.
