Dean's Message
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the School of Engineering and Computing (SoEC) at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah.
The SoEC offers a wide spectrum of engineering and computing programs, giving students the opportunity to explore diverse courses and engage in multidisciplinary design and research projects. Our low student-to-faculty ratio fosters an environment where students benefit from close peer interaction and strong faculty mentoring.
We are also proud of our state-of-the-art facilities, including the new Engineering Lab Building, which houses most of our laboratories and provides access to advanced tools and technologies that enrich both learning and research. In addition, the School hosts the Advanced Technology and Artificial Intelligence Center (ATAI), a hub for cutting-edge research that advances innovation in AI and emerging technologies, positioning AURAK as a regional leader in this field while providing opportunities for student involvement.
Education at SoEC extends beyond the classroom. Our students are active in professional societies, student clubs, and industry events, gaining valuable exposure and leadership skills. They have participated in numerous national and international competitions, including the Solar Decathlon Middle East, Hackathons, and the Think Science Competition.
The School is also deeply committed to collaboration with industry. Through joint research projects, co-supervised senior design projects, and internship opportunities, we ensure that our students graduate with the practical skills and professional connections to succeed in their careers.
We highly value quality in all we do. All our programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), with all eligible programs also accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), and our Architecture program has gained candidacy status with the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). Our distinguished faculty, holding doctoral degrees from leading universities worldwide, bring expertise and passion that drive our commitment to teaching, research, and innovation.

The advisory council for the School of Engineering and Computing advises the school on policies and procedures, promotes the school community services, provides input on the school curriculum, helps in accommodating engineering graduates in the labor market, shares information on developments in the country, and serves as an instrument for action.
