Scholarship Details
Creative Expression Scholarships (CES) will be awarded in the following categories:
1. Exemplary Creative Expression Scholarship: 50% scholarship
2. Notable Creative Expression Scholarship: 40% scholarship
3. Promising Creative Expression Scholarship: 30% scholarship
Portfolio Guidelines and Expectations
Students wishing to apply for the Creative Expression Scholarship are required to submit a portfolio demonstrating excellence in creative expression. The student portfolio must adhere to the following guidelines.
Medium of Choice:
Student Portfolios can be designed and/or presented in any electronic medium of the student’s choice
a) Portfolios must be submitted in soft copy
b) Portfolios may be submitted in PDF format or other interactive means
- Applicants must ensure all hyperlinks are functioning prior to submission
- Any work attached via a broken hyperlink will not be evaluated
- The presentation of the portfolio, itself, is a demonstration of creativity

a) Must include the applicant’s full name
b) Date of submission
Personal Statement Video
a) The video must feature the applicant speaking
b) Applicants should express themselves in English
c) Applicants should discuss their overall creative process- Describe why they have selected these works for inclusion in their portfolio
d) The video must be no longer than two minutes (120 seconds)
Each work must include the following statement of authenticity
I attest that this work is entirely my own, and has been created independently by me without assistance
Applicants found to have submitted work that is not their own will immediately have their application withdrawn from consideration.
The Portfolio must include at least one item from the visual arts category and the performing arts category as described in the following table:

Portfolio Submission and Review Process
Applicants wishing to apply for a Creative Expression Scholarship, are required to submit a portfolio for review and evaluation by a faculty selection committee comprised of faculty members in architecture/ interior design and mass communication.
1. Applicants should submit their portfolio (constructed in a medium of their choice) through the application link provided.
2. The submission deadline for 2023-2024 academic year will be 10 August 2023.
3. The CES selection committee will evaluate each portfolio according to the rubric developed for the purpose.
4. The Office of Admissions will inform applicants of the status of their scholarship application by 20 August 2023.

Diversity of Expression
a) The applicant must include a minimum of four works for evaluation
Each work must include
- A unique title
- Date (or time) of production
- 50-word description
i) Describe the purpose of the piece
ii) Describe the creative process behind the work
- Each work must be on a separate page
i) Any and all videos have a 2 ½ minute maximum length
ii) Any and all images should be reviewed for color and pixelization
Late submissions will not be considered
