Asmaa is a final year student on the Master of Education in Educational Leadership program. She works for the Ministry of Education in the Northern Emirates and has recently been promoted to Academic Support Manager for STEM education in 16 schools. Asmaa feels strongly that this success is as a result of the depth of study she has undertaken at AURAK.
After Asmaa graduated with a degree in Engineering she was keen to encourage other young women to study STEM subjects. She taught Maths, Mechanical Engineering, Creative Design & Innovation, Business Studies and Design & Technology for three years, before deciding she’d like a greater say in the direction of education in her country.
Looking for professional development to support her career, Asmaa researched a number of Masters programs and settled on the Master of Education in Educational Leadership at AURAK, a choice she has not regretted. Asmaa had been working in prestigious Aviation Academies within the Ministry of Education UAE schools, and she was recently promoted to Academic Support Manager for these Academies in the Northern Emirates. She reports that the knowledge she gained during her leadership studies empowered her to engage effectively on a management level and arrive at decisions confidently. Asmaa states that her goal is to “have a positive impact” on the students and staff she is responsible for.
