Office of Research & Community Service
The function of the Office of Research and Community Service at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) is to manage all aspects of research and community service, such as the appointment of distinguished fellows and scholars, scholarly publication processes, sponsored programs, community service programs, RAK Research and Innovation Center (RAKRIC), and the Center for Executive and Professional Education.
The Office of Research and Community Service is engaged in enhancing and assisting research and scholarly activities of AURAK faculty through research mentoring and professional development and through promoting collaborations with faculty inside and outside the University. Our office also ensures the engagement of AURAK faculty, staff, and students with the community through services that address community needs.
Mission Statement:
The Office of Research and Community Service assists and supports all students and faculty in engaging in high-impact research and scholarly activities and facilitates engagement of AURAK faculty, staff, and students with the community, including industry, businesses, organizations and government entities.
Vision Statement:
To prepare leaders and entrepreneurs through engaging students, faculty and staff in high-impact research and in community outreach and creative initiatives involving local, regional, and global partners.
Goals:
- To enhance research productivity of the faculty and encourage students’ involvement.
- To provide analysis, research, and information to the School Deans as they work with faculty to develop and implement processes and procedures to encouraging scholarship and research.
- To assist faculty in looking for funding opportunities and collaborations.
- To review and implement research and community service policies and procedures.
- To develop and execute community engagement projects and programs with industry, businesses, organizations and government entities.
