Master of Education: Educational Leadership
The Master of Education is designed to promote prepare teachers and school administrators with the knowledge and skills they need to advance their careers in leadership roles. The M.Ed program aims to prepare, develop, and produce reflective scholar-practioners skilled in data-driven decision making who are able to contribute to positive change in education, academic settings, and where education meets industry.
The Master of Education in an intensive, fulltime program in which students are able to complete the entire program within one and a half years, or three semesters. Classes are offered on Fridays and Saturdays to provide flexibility for working professionals seeking to advance their careers.

Firstly, we have a successful track record of professional growth from graduates of our program. Nearly 70% of our graduates have successfully passed leadership assessments for promotion to more senior leadership roles.
Secondly, 100% of our current students are engaged in real-world research studies, contributing to scholarship and practice: over 60% of our recent graduates have successfully published their research in academic journals, and 70% have presented at academic conferences.
Finally, Master of Education students represent a diverse and highly motivated cohort of students from different backgrounds and ethnicities. In schools and the field of education, work often occurs in teams; likewise, the Master of Education program embeds extensive use of team-based activities, fostering diverse discourse to achieve meaningful outcomes.

The primary purposes of the M.Ed. are to:
- Prepare students for careers as educational and instructional leaders and practitioners, grounded in the culture and society of the region.
- Provide students with a thorough understanding of educational policy, teaching and learning practice and administration, coupled with a contextualized awareness of the unique environment that exists in Ras Al Khaimah, the UAE and the wider region.

AURAK’s M.Ed. in Leadership offers a transformational experience to degree holding candidates as they actively apply theory, critical reflection and analysis, and best practice. Program Objectives
Graduates of the PGDE Program are prepared to assume instructional and administrative leadership positions in K- 12 schools, as well as a variety of other educational organizations and institutions. Graduates will apply knowledge to their current positions, enhancing their professional practice, and become agents of change within schools. Specifically, the four aims of this program are as follows:
- Prepare scholar-practitioners who engage in lifelong learning to meaningfully develop their careers in education.
- Produce educators who apply in reflective practice to promote inclusion and diverse discourse grounded in the culture of the region.
- Prepare scholar-practitioners who engage in data-driven decision making in order to effect meaningful, research- based positive change in academic settings.
- Develop problem-solvers with advanced knowledge of education and specialized skills in education who contribute to overcoming challenges in education, academic settings, and at the intersection of education and industry.

How to Apply
Please read the following carefully before completing the application form
- Applicants must complete the application themselves. All requirements on this application must be filled in. Incomplete applications will not be considered. It is preferable that all items be typed.
- Applicants are encouraged to apply early. They should not wait until their final examination results are announced.
- Please note that submitting an application, paying the application fee and receiving an ID number does not in any way mean that an applicant is admitted to the university. Admission is offered in writing to qualified applicants only after an official evaluation of their credentials is performed by the Office of Admissions.
- The offer of admission is valid only for the academic semester for which the applicant applies. Applicants who wish to defer their admission to the following semester must submit a written request to the Office of Admissions not later than one month before the beginning of the semester. Admission consideration for the following semester will depend on meeting the established requirements and available seats.
- In case seats are not available in the semester you selected, AURAK will consider your application for the following semester.
- All documents presented to complete an application for admission are the property of the university. Applicants, whether accepted or not, may not claim them back.

Transfer Students
Graduate Transfer Students
A maximum of six graduate credits from a graduate school at an accredited college/university may be transferred to a program of study at AURAK, subject to program-specific rules and regulations.
- Credits for transfer must be approved by the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research in consultation with the Coordinator of the appropriate graduate degree program according to the guidelines of graduate studies.
- These credits must have been earned not more than five years prior to the transfer, and the student must have earned a grade of B or higher for any graduate-level course that is requested to be transferred.
- Likewise, these credits may not have been used to satisfy requirements for another earned degree. Transfer credit will not be accepted for research or thesis/dissertation work.

- Grades earned in transferred courses do not count in the student’s cumulative GPA (CGPA), though transferred credits count toward the cumulative earned hours and may apply towards meeting graduation requirements.
- Applicants must request that credit transfers be reviewed at the time of application.

The fees can be paid in person in cash or through credit card (Visa & Master card) at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah between 8.30 am to 4.30 pm in the Accounts Office.
Option B: CHECK
Persons with UAE bank accounts may write a check made payable to American University of Ras Al Khaimah. The check can be sent to the address below or taken to the Accounts Office on the AURAK Campus.
