The American University of Ras Al Khaimah’s Architecture and Interior Design students participated in a workshop about integration of Arts and Mathematics in craft conducted on March 10th, 2022 by Ms. Selma Catovic Hughes, Foundations Instructor of Architecture and Interior Design at American University of Sharjah through a US Grant to Al-Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research.
The workshop entitled “Recalculating: What Do Art and Math Have in Common” introduced freshmen and sophomore students to know how to weave together traditional craft and modern vernacular to create an artifact that takes on its surroundings and articulates.
Ms. Hughes was invited by Al Qasimi Foundation to exhibit her sculptures in RAK Fine Arts Festival and to conduct workshops for AURAK’s students.
