The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) celebrated its 13th anniversary on April 14th, 2022 with a gathering of all AURAK faculty and staff for Ramadan Iftar and to recognize what the university has achieved in its first 13 years while paving the way for the next years of success, prosperity and progress.

This milestone was a perfect time to mark years of incredible excellence and innovation, to reflect on the university’s outstanding accomplishments and to extend the appreciation to departing employees and recognition of long service awardees.

The celebration commenced with welcome speeches presented by Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, President of AURAK, and Professor Stephen Wilhite, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Success and Provost Professor.

Professor Al Alkim expressed his gratitude to everyone for their work with the development of the university’s various programs both locally and internationally. He looked forward to a bright future for AURAK and continued growth as a special academic institution, providing world-class education.

The president concluded the remarkable event by thanking again all faculty and staff for their dedication and labor which have been the source of AURAK’s success as well as its prosperous years.

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah was established in 2009 in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. It has achieved national and international accreditation over 13 short years, recognized by the Ministry of Education in the UAE as well as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges in the USA. AURAK also has a 5-star rating by the QS international star rating system, while ranking as a Top 50 university in the MENA region. The university offers a total of 28 unique programs at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels across its three schools; the School of Arts and Science, the School of Business and the School of Engineering.
