AURAK Searches for Stars

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) hosted the AURAK Talent Search Competition 2019 for School Students to showcase and encourage the cultivation of local talent of Ras Al Khaimah.

All day Thursday, 300 student participants took to the stage to compete in AURAK’s first talent show, the AURAK Talent Search Competition 2019 for School Students, with attendees from Scholars Indian School, RAK Modern Private School, Alnajah of Primary And Secondary Education, Alhudaiba Secondary School, Arabic Private School, AlMareed for Primary and Secondary School, RAK Academy, Salaf AlSalih Ras Al Khaimah School, GEMS Westminster School, Islamic Education School, Pakistan Higher Secondary School, Alpha Private School, Indian Public High School, Sheikh Saud Private Charitable School for Girls 3, Sheikh Saud Private Charitable School for Girls 4, Manar Private School, and the Bangladesh Islamic School. The students competed in the talent categories of vocal, instrumental, dance, acting, poem recitation, and painting in front of a judging panel consisting of Mr. Fauzan Qazi, Director of the Office of Risk Management, Mr. Ahmad Amhani, R&D Engineer of RAK Research and Innovation Center, and Dr. Khouloud Salameh, Assistant Professor of Computer Sciences, in hopes of stealing the show and taking away first prize in their category.

The winners for each of the talent categories are as follows:

Vocal:

Instrumental:

  1. Scholars Indian School
  2. Indian Public High School
  3. Al Manar private school

Dance:

  1. AlMareed for Primary & Secondary School
  2. Scholars Indian School

Acting:

  1. Indian public High School
  2. Scholars Indian School
  3. Al Manar Private School

Poem Recitation:

  1. Islamic Education School
  2. RAK Modern Private School
  3. Sheikh Saud Private Charitable School for Girls 4

Painting:

  1. Islamic Education School (Sara Loai)
  2. Bangladesh Islamic School (Sumaia Akter)
  3. Pakistan Higher Secondary School (Abdul Rahim)

AURAK President, Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim was overjoyed to be able to support such initiatives that promote the talent of the Ras Al Khaimah youth, instilling in them the confidence to follow their dreams and life ambitions.
