AURAK Mass Communication student Wiktoria Szydlak was selected to exhibit her art work at the Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival 2020

The 8th edition of Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival established by Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation is starting on the 31st January 2020 to welcome artists and directors of all ages and nationalities, regardless of their emirate or country of residence.
2020 Festival Theme: Connected Communities
The theme of the 8th edition RAKFAF is celebrating Connected Communities, which applies to the Year of Tolerance and implies genuine connection among different cultures, nationalities, religions, and traditions. This time the participants will have an opportunity to devolve their feelings related to the current world in the era of increased globalization through art.
The exhibition is divided in four categories:
- Digital Art
- Sculpture
- Film
- Student
The first and second place will rewarded in each category with a trophy and cash rewards. The Opening Reception & Awards Night is on Friday in Al Jazirah Al Hamra Heritage Village at 8 pm.
Among 110 artists that got qualified, AURAK student Wiktoria Szydlak was also selected to exhibit her art work on the festival. Her oil painting called ‘The Distance’ will be available to see during the whole festival until 31st of March 2020.
‘I was very excited when I received an email from RAKFAF that my painting was approved by committee – specialists in art and design. I am delighted to participate in this competition as it will be a big challenge and definitely, an unforgettable experience that I will never forget.”- says Wiktoria from AURAK Mass Communication program. ‘I am sure each section will be full of great pieces of art and the competition will be very big, but to me the most important fact is that I got already qualified which is not that easy as it looks like. I cannot wait for the Opening Ceremony this Friday.’
