AURAK and IARD-Oxford University collaboration – virtual field trip to RAK

The Architectural  Department  is pleased to collaborate virtually with Oxford Brooks University in UK to carry out a joint virtual study of the old town of Ras Al-Khaimah. Students from both institutions will collaborate to collect data on the social, environmental economic , sustainability and heritage context . The field work will be implemented by 5th and 4th year architectural students .. This activity is coordinated by Dr. Julia Wedel, Coordinator MA International Architectural Regeneration and Development in Oxford University and Dr. Eman Assi, Associate Professor  from Architectural Department  in RAK . A series of lecture on local architecture , history and Urban Evolution of the city of Ras Alkhaimah and environmental aspect will be delivered during this week by many scholars who are expert in the related field , among them is Dr. Hamed Assaf, the dean of school of Engineering,  Tawfiq Abu Hantash and  Dr. Eman Assi from department of Architecture at AURAK, christen Velde and David Connelly for the Department of Antiquities of RAK  .
