AURAK and Ras Al Khaimah Petroleum Authority Sign Student Sponsorship Deal

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) and the Ras Al Khaimah Petroleum Authority (RAKPA) have signed a student sponsorship and training agreement.
RAKPA is the competent authority for, and the regulator of, the Ras Al Khaimah’s petroleum sector under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi.
President of AURAK, Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, signed agreement for the university and Nishant Dighe, the Chief Executive of RAKPA, initialed it on behalf of the Authority.
RAKPA has agreed to take part in and fund a student sponsorship and training program in conjunction with AURAK. The sponsorship includes course fees, living expenses and stipends for student internships in industry. The agreement is valid for four years.
The Authority has agreed to support the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering for the sponsorship, training and development of highly qualified and deserving students including participation in study abroad programs approved by AURAK.
AURAK and RAKPA are cooperating on sponsorship and training because higher education and the oil and gas industry working together contributes to “domestic development, scientific progress and the consolidation of friendship between academic institutions and the private sector”, according to the deal the parties signed.
