October 13, 2019,

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) Office of International Students’ Programs hosted a Vietnamese delegation in collaboration with the Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research.

A group of 11 Vietnamese educators accompanied by the Al Qasimi Foundation team visited AURAK to spend an afternoon learning more about AURAK as a higher education institution that trains teachers to improve the quality of education in the Emirates.

The visit began with a meeting with AURAK’s President, Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Success and Provost, Professor Stephen Wilhite, and other administration staff where they gave an overview of the education system at AURAK. The President said he wanted to see Vietnamese students study at AURAK in future.

Following the meeting, the delegation toured the campus. They visited the Center of Information, Communication and Networking Education and Innovation and learned about the MeznSat, cutting-edge satellite technology being employed by AURAK students in coordination with the UAE Space Agency.

The delegation then attended additional presentations, beginning with a welcome message by Dr. Denise Gifford, Associate Provost of the Office of Student Success.
