Making Other People Happy Makes AURAK Happy

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) Student Life Department and the Beit Al Khair Society honors the memory of Sheik Zayed by distributing breakfast to the Ras Al Khaimah workforce community, taking part in the International Day of Charity initiative.

AURAK is a government-owned institution of higher education, providing students with an integrated North American-style education, and is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in UAE, offering twenty-two undergraduate and graduate programs across a wide range of disciplines. One of the missions of the institution is to instil its graduates with the significance of communal responsibility.  To commemorate the legacy of Sheikh Zayed during the “Year of Zayed” and participate in the International Day of Charity, AURAK student volunteers joined forces with the Beit Al Khair Society, a Dubai society devoted to providing various types of assistance to the less fortunate of the UAE, in the efforts of waging war against hunger.  In this particular enterprise, the two organizations spent an entire morning delivering breakfast to 200 Ras Al Khaimah labourers, fostering good will, uplifting the overall well-being of Ras Al Khaimah, and otherwise instilling hope in the lives of many.

“Proud does not describe the overwhelming emotion I am filled with when our students demonstrate the profound love and compassion they possess for humanity,” AURAK President, Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, commented. “AURAK students never cease to amaze me in exceeding expectations when caring for their beloved Ras Al Khaimah community.  It brings me great pleasure that AURAK is fortunate enough to be able to collaborate with such admirable and remarkable agencies as the Beit Al Khair Society in contributing to the needs of our society, and look forward to seeing what future surprises our students have in store for us.”
