RAK Ruler’s Wife Receives AURAK Delegation

The wife of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Sheikha Hana bint Juma Al Majid, today received a delegation from the American University of Ras Al Khaimah at the Ruler’s Palace, in celebration of International Women’s Day. The all-female delegation was led by Professor Claudette Williams, Vice President of Quality Assurance at the University.
Sheikha Hana welcomed the delegation and spoke about the importance of equal rights for women in all fields, particularly in terms of education and employment. She stressed that giving women these opportunities allows them to participate in the development of the country and compete in the labor market.
Professor Williams detailed the University’s rapid progress and praised H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi for his continued support as patron of the government-owned University. She added that the visit was an ideal opportunity to inform the Palace on the academic developments at the University.
At the conclusion of the visit, the AURAK delegation presented Sheikha Hana with a gift, in appreciation of her support of the University and role in empowering women in the region.
