A number of students enrolled in AURAK’s Mass Communication program were today awarded for their participation in the Connectconference, hosted by the Middle East Public Relations Association in March.

Certificates were distributed by, Martin Norris, Director of Communications at RAK Media Office, who spoke of his pleasure at seeing so many young people taking an interest in the media and praised the students for their active participation at MEPRA’s first conference in Ras Al Khaimah.  Martin concluded by inviting the students to attend the next MEPRA conference, which will focus on social media and presentation skills, at the end of May.

Dr. Richard Gauvain, Dean of the School of Arts and Science, thanked Drs. Kevin Keenan and Saad Ullah Khan for their commitment to developing the University’s mass communication program.

Prior to the award ceremony, Martin met AURAK president, Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, in his office.  They both reiterated their desire to establish a long term relationship between AURAK and RAK Media Office, as this will provide media students with internship and potential job opportunities within their field of study.
