AURAK Raises Awareness of Female Cyber Bullying

May 8, 2016,

The Student Life Department at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) organized a workshop on Sunday, which aimed to raise awareness of female cyber-bullying, an increasingly prevalent phenomenon in society.

The GADHA Group’s ‘Ma Nerda Aleiha’ initiative, hosted in AURAK’s Building D, highlighted the negative effects of criticizing and abusing females via social media.  The GADHA group, one of AURAK’s partners, is a non-profit organization, created to serve the community of Ras Al Khaimah and the United Arab Emirates through youth empowerment.

The workshop featured three special guests who discussed the issue; Heba Al Samt, the director of the digital media department at Dubai Media incorporated, Hannan Al Sammak, the founder of the ‘Your Life’ program, and Mohamed Mannai, a host on Dubai Media.

Before the event, the three guest speakers met Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, AURAK President, in his office.
