MEEL Alumni and Students Attend Gathering

November 8, 2016,

The School of Arts and Sciences this week hosted a gathering for both alumni and current students of its Master of Education in Educational Leadership (MEEL) program.

The get-together, which gave past and present students, as well as faculty and staff, the opportunity to socialize and network was also attended by president of the university, Prof. Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, the provost, Prof. Bilal Akash, and dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Richard Gauvain.

Speaking at the event, the program coordinator, Dr. Judy Khaloui, welcomed the alumni and students, all of whom are teachers within the Ras Al Khaimah education system. She applauded them for their work and desire to learn, emphasizing the importance of their role in society as the educators of the next generation of young minds.

Dr. Eugenie Samier, an associate professor within the MEEL program, also delivered a short presentation detailing the students’ possibilities for further education and research through attending academic conferences. She confirmed that she will be hosting a workshop later this semester, with information on how to select which conferences and how to gain the most from the experience.

AURAK’s MEEL program has been a huge success since its inception, attracting teachers, both public and private, from across the country to further their education and gain a master’s degree.
