AURAK Students Chosen for Female Empowerment Workshop at Bosch

November 21, 2016,

Three students from the American University of Ras Al Khaimah were invited to the Bosch Middle East headquarters in Dubai this month in order to meet the multinational organization’s female managers.

The three students, Shahad Al Zuhairi, Shoug Al Sharhan and Najma Feroz, attended the one-day event following a screening process, including a review of their respective LinkedIn profiles and a telephone interview with Bosch’s HR personnel. Only 25 students from across the UAE made the final cut.

Throughout the day, the students were given the opportunity to interact with the organization’s female leaders, gaining an insight into their personal stories and how to overcome the challenges facing young women in the corporate world.

Speaking of her experience, Shoug Al Sharhan stated, “It was a really empowering experience meeting these successful ladies. It has honestly had a positive impact on my daily life and I have a clearer vision of what I would like to achieve in the future. I strongly believe in female empowerment and I hope to attend more events like this in Ras Al Khaimah.”

Shahad Al Zuhairi added, “If any student has an opportunity like this in the future, they should go for it. I learnt so much and met some great people. As Shoug has already said, I feel like I have a better idea of what I want to achieve and how I will reach my goals. Events like this contribute to the development of society and will have long-term benefits for all involved.”
