November 27, 2016,

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) has been visited by a delegation from the Abu Dhabi-based Masdar Institute of Science and Technology.

The delegation, which included Dr. Saif Al Muhairi, who specializes in mechanical and materials engineering, and Azza Al Bakr, an AURAK graduate and current master’s student at the Masdar Institute, spoke to students within the School of Engineering to expose them to the wide-range of graduate studies and research opportunities available in the UAE.

The visiting team explained that the Masdar Institute is the world’s first graduate-level university dedicated to research in advanced energy and sustainable technologies, developed in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The Masdar Institute, which currently offers a full scholarship for research assistantships and post-doctoral opportunities, has encouraged senior students to apply for a scholarship, while also explaining that a number of summer internship placements are also available.

AURAK’s School of Engineering currently offers ten programs, while the university also offers a master’s degree in engineering project management.
