Dr. Gao is associate professor of petroleum engineering at AURAK. He received Bachelor’s degree from University of Petroleum (East China), Master’s degree from University of Tulsa, and PhD from Curtin University, all in petroleum engineering.

Prior to his current position, Dr. Gao taught seven years at UAE University, Petroleum Institute Abu Dhabi, and University of Aberdeen. He also worked for Sinopec for five years, first as a field engineer, later as office and research engineer.

Dr. Gao conducted research in oil recovery, drilling fluid, and production technology. In 2014, Dr. Gao was elected Taishan scholar by Shandong province government and awarded research fund of two million CNY.  He supervised two PhD students, and six Master thesis in UK. Dr. Gao has published two books and more than twenty peer-reviewed journal papers. He also authored a few SPE conference papers.
