Dr. Ghulam Ali Arain is an Associate Professor of Human Resources and Management in the Management Department. He has more than ten years of diversified experience in teaching, training, research, and consultancy in both public and private institutes. Before joining AURAK, he has served in many academic and administrative positions including Director SIBA Executive Development Center, Coordinator of Executive MBA, MS, and Ph.D. programs, Head of Department of the Business Department, Assistant Professor (HRM/OB) at Sukkur IBA University (Pakistan), Effat University (KSA), and a visiting faculty member at IAE Aix-en-Provence, France. He has organized more than fifty workshops, seminars, and training where he has trained more than 3000 professionals. He has served as a lead trainer for more than 25 trainings and workshops conducted for well-known organizations including SSGC, IRD, Literacy and Education Department of Sindh Government (Pakistan), NSUSC, ASP LUMS, CIDA, and USAID. He has supervised five MS and two Ph.D. (in process) theses. Apart from his teaching, training, and research work, he has also received funding for social/community-based projects, including 9.05 million from International Relief and Development and a project of 19.2 million from the Ministry of Education, Sindh (Pakistan). He has also consulted on a USAID project on Teacher Educators, and a World Bank sponsored project on Standardized Achievement Test (SAT-II) in Sindh (Pakistan).
Dr. Ghulam received his PhD in Management Sciences with a major in Human Resources in 2012 and his Master of Research in Management in 2009 from IAE d’Aix en Provence, Aix-Marseille Université, France in 2012.  His areas of expertise were ethical/moral leadership, workplace ethics, work performance, workplace positive behaviours, and quantitative data analysis with advanced statistical techniques.  This PhD thesis topic was the “Impact of organizational social context on employee’s perception of psychological contract breach and the subsequent performance behaviour.” He also received a Master of Public Administration from SALU, Khairpur Mirs, Paskistan in 2006 majoring in Human Resources Management.


He has been actively involved in empirical/quantitative research in the areas of leadership, trust, work-family interference, employee performance, and knowledge management. He has published seventeen research papers in peer-reviewed top journals, including Group and Organization Management, and International Journal of HRM, Personnel Review. He has presented thirteen research papers at leading academic conferences, including Academy of Management Annual Conference.
