Dr. Elnaffar received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Queen’s University (ON, Canada) 2004. He got his M.Sc. in computer science from Queen’s University in 1999. He worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the School of Computing at Queen’s University (September-December 2004). From 2000 until 2004, Dr. Elnaffar worked as a Research Associate at the IBM Centre of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Canada. He worked as an Assistant Professor (2005-2011) and as an Associate Professor (2011-2014) in the College of Information Technology, UAE University (UAE). Presently, he is an Associate Professor of Computer Science in the School of Engineering at the American University of RAK (UAE). Dr. Elnaffar is also an entrepreneur and helped many firms with his industrial experience and professional consultation.

 Dr. Elnaffar’s research has been funded by numerous governmental organizations, and industrial agencies. His work is published in several international journals and IEEE/ACM Conferences of Web services, Grid computing, Systems performance and Evaluation, and applied AI. He also organized and served on many program committees of pronounced conferences and workshops.

Dr. Elnaffar is known by his captivating style of teaching and training. He is the winner of the Teaching Award in 2008 (UAE University) and the best research paper in computing education (2013).
