Dr. Vazeerjan Begum is an Assistant Professor of Management in the School of Business, American University of Ras Al Khaimah. In her current position, she teaches courses in Management. Before joining AURAK, Dr. Vazeerjan worked as an Assistant Professor of Management at the Emirates College for Management and Information Technology, Dubai, for nine years, from September, 2005 to August, 2014. She also worked as the Dean of Continuing Education & Professional Development for six years, 2008-2014.
Dr. Vazeerjan worked as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Bolton – RAK Campus, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, for 7 years: 2007 – 2014. She also worked as Visiting Faculty member of Management/ Business Administration at Skyline University, Sharjah, from 2007 to 2008.
Dr. Vazeer’s primary teaching and research areas of interest include Strategic Management, Consumer Behavior, Operations Management and Marketing Research. She is particularly interested in the development and use of financial and non-financial measures to support learning and strategic management practices. Dr. Vazeer is the author of a number of research articles in peer reviewed journals of international repute. She has attended and presented papers in a number of conferences and workshops in UAE, Malaysia, Pakistan, and India.
Dr. Vazeer was a Lead member of the team that initiated and established the Bachelor’s degree programme in Management, Marketing and HRM at the Emirates College for Management and Information Technology (ECMIT). She is also a Lead Verifier for the BTEC Level 4, 5 and 7 programmes offered by the BTEC Edexcel, United Kingdom. She was instrumental in helping to set up and run the Edexcel programmes at ECMIT.
Dr. Vazeerjan Begum earned her Ph. D. degree with a major in Management from Mother Teresa Women’s University. Dr Begum also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from University of Madras and a PgD in HRM from Pondicherry University.
