AURAK take every precaution to ensure the AURAK Community have a safe environment in which to work and study. We cannot do this, however, without your cooperation and support.
We are all responsible for ensuring AURAK is a safe place. Our actions should not put others or ourselves at risk. Our workspaces should be kept neat and tidy, free from trip and any other hazards that might hurt our fellow campus users or us.
If you are concerned about anything related to health and safety on campus, get in touch with the Office of Facilities by emailing office.facilities@aurak.ac.ae.
What to do if someone has an accident or is taken ill
- If there is a medical emergency on campus call 998 for Ambulance Emergency Services.
- Call Security on 07 246 8 998, who will co-ordinate on campus medical support.
- Stay with the patient until help arrives.
OR
- If there is a medical situation on campus, such as a minor injury, call Security on 07 246 8 998, who will co-ordinate on campus medical support.
- Stay with the patient until help arrives, if their condition worsens call 998 for Ambulance Emergency Services.
What to do if the fire alarm sounds
1. Leave the building by the nearest emergency exit IMMEDIATELY.
2. Evacuation procedures and assembly points are clearly displayed in all buildings on campus.
3. Familiarize yourself with the nearest emergency exit in your building.
4. Do not stop to collect your personal belongings.
5. Do not use the elevator.
6. Gather at the nearest Assembly point.
7. Follow the Fire Wardens’ instructions.
What to do if you discover a Fire
1. Activate the nearest alarm.
2. Leave the area immediately, closing doors to contain the fire if that is possible.
3. Call Security on 07 246 8 998 who will co-ordinate on campus support.
4. Evacuation procedures and assembly points are clearly displayed in all buildings on campus.
5. Familiarize yourself with the nearest emergency exit in your building.
6. Do not stop to collect your personal belongings.
7. Do not use the elevator.
8. Gather at the nearest Assembly point.
9. Follow the Fire Wardens’ instructions.
