AURAK Students Visit Research Center
November 25, 2019,
A group from the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) visited the RAK Research and Innovation Center (RAKRIC) to see its facilities and hear about its work.
Twenty students from Mechanical Engineering program travelled to RAKRIC. Their trip consisted of a presentation giving tips on writing research papers, Solar PV system design and installation, project management, and safety. The presentation also covered RAKRIC facilities and projects. The students were given a tour around the site to see the Solar Tent, PV testing lab, Solar Calorimeter, and RAKRIC Solar PV system.
A photovoltaic (PV) system is designed to supply usable power by means of photovoltaics, the conversion of light into electricity using semiconducting materials.
RAK Research and Innovation Center is a state-of-the-art R&D center which develops sustainable systems related to solar technology. The center is intended to act as a bridge between academics and industry’s development of new products. RAKRIC also works in the field of consultancy, performance tests, technology integration, energy auditing, system development and technology transfer to industry.
