A group from the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) visited the RAK Research and Innovation Center (RAKRIC) to see its facilities and hear about its work.

RAK Research and Innovation Center (RAKRIC) received visits by two groups of higher education students to see its facilities and hear about its work.

The International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Climate Change held an agriculture field day at RAK Research and Innovation Center (RAKRIC).

Mr. Leanard F. Morrissey, director of Global Business Development and Strategy of ASTM international, and Mr. Christopher Mathis, President of Mathis Consulting Company, visited RAK Research and Innovation Center to discuss collaboration venues. The visit started with a tour at RAKRIC facilities, in which RAKRIC team explained about the different ongoing projects at the research center. Further, a meeting was held to brief other ongoing projects and research work. The meeting took a part where several ideas and information were shared. ASTM International offered their service for supporting RAKRIC work in several projects such as Energy Auditing and PV testing Lab.

RAK Municipality hosted the Danish Consulate Energy Efficiency seminar; several presentations were given by specialized companies in Energy consumption issues. The companies presented several products and solutions that were tested and applied in other projects. Two members of RAKRIC team, dedicated for Energy Audit, attended the seminar to have an overview of the market and the several solutions that can be provided.

Dr. Mohammad Al Zaabi visited RAK Research and Innovation Center. The visit started with a tour at RAKRIC facilities, in which RAKRIC team explained about the different projects going on at the research center. Further, a meeting was held to brief other ongoing projects and research work. The meeting took a part where several ideas and information were shared.  

RAK Research and Innovation Center participated in the AURAK Job Fair 2019, a two-day job fair hosted by AURAK from March 6th through the 7th, 2019. The event provided opportunities for company representatives and job seekers to interact, attracting company representatives from both the governmental and private sector and job seekers from all across the Northern Emirates, including students from several other universities.

AURAK is the first institution in the Middle East to receive the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) institutional accreditation. SACSCOC is an American regional accreditation body of eleven Southern states of the USA and in Latin America for institutions of higher education, which awards associate, baccalaureate, master’s, and/or doctoral degrees.

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah made it through the Solar Decathlon Middle East competition held in Dubai successfully with its first Net Zero energy house, Al-Bayt Al-Kamel, surviving the harsh hot weather of the United Arab Emirates.

A team of researchers from RAK Research and Innovation Center (RAKRIC) participated in ICEWES, held at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) between the 21st and 23rd of November, 2018.
