The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) requires all full-time students (local and international) to have a health insurance policy with adequate coverage. All undergraduate and graduate students are charged an insurance premium in the first semester of full-time enrollment each academic year. Students who begin in the spring semester will pay a prorated portion of the annual premium. Those who provide evidence of comparable coverage in the UAE, through an existing health insurance policy, can request a waiver of coverage through a review process.
Students seeking the insurance waiver submit their insurance card and a declaration of coverage document listing the limits of coverage provided under their existing policy. The declaration page submitted must specify the upper AED limit and include the extent of coverage provided in the policy. These two documents must be uploaded on the AURAK EUMS portal by accessing the following link:

Confirmation of comparable health insurance coverage must be received by the last day of the class drop/add period. Refunds are not granted for proof of insurance that is submitted after the last scheduled day to drop/add classes each semester. Please note: submitting proof of coverage does not guarantee that the policy will qualify for approval. The University will evaluate the limits of coverage in the existing policy and compare it to the policy offered by the University to make the determination regarding comparable coverage.
