Course Description


The dual-credit Summer Program at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) provides brilliant and ambitious high-school students an introductive and transformative educational experience at the college level. This integrated program aims at offering a framework to prepare students to a perfect transition from high-school to the top-level University spirit of Excellence, Innovation, and Ethics. Guest professors from world renowned universities (such as MIT and UCLA) provide unique exposure to the students of what makes higher education a life changing experience. Classes focus on physics and mathematics, by providing an understanding of the world around us, and how it works. Sparking the interest and curiosity of future scientists to push the boundaries of scientific knowledge, the courses of physics and mathematics provides the framework for thinking about the world around us and building models to understand it. In addition, computer science seminars are offered to illustrate the latest trends in image processing, robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI) and how they related to physics and mathematics. Students have the opportunity to work closely with faculty on their own projects to integrate the knowledge they learn in class and trasalte it into an application of their interest. At the end of the program, students will get credit for the courses they complete. The credit can be used at AURAK or be transfered to other universities.
