Solar and Hydrogen Cars Project
As an initiative to reduce the release of greenhouse gases and the impact of car emissions on public health, senior students at the School of Engineering have designed and built two car models that eliminate the use of hydrocarbon fuels: the AURAK Solar Car and the AURAK Hydrogen Car.
The solar model won the first prize in the AURAK Engineering Design and Research Day (AEDRD). The car was featured in AURAK promotional video (provide link here). The hydrogen model uses a fuel cell to generate electricity by combining hydrogen and oxygen and releases only water vapor, therefore reducing harmful car emissions.
