Center for Learning Support Services and eLearning Programs (CLSSELP)
The Center for Learning Support Services and eLearning Programs (CLSSELP) is committed to enhancing student success and academic achievement at AURAK. Directed by Matthew Sheldon Ames, the CLSSELP oversees the AURAK Writing Center and the Math and Science Center, both located on the 1st floor of Building D. These centers are open from Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, offering a range of services to support students in key academic areas.
Mission
The Center for Learning Support Services and eLearning Programs (CLSSELP) support the application of the latest theory and research to enhance knowledge instruction and acquisition at AURAK. The Center seeks to contribute to a culture of research-based improvements to best scaffold professors in their teaching, course design, and students’ learning, including the online learning context. The Center also works with faculty to identify ways to enhance academic advising in response to student needs.
Vision
The vision of the Center for Learning Support Services and eLearning Programs (CLSSELP) is to support AURAK in becoming one of the strongest universities in the region, recognized for its culture of student learning, excellent teaching, and related scholarship and research.
Goals
- Identify and respond to the dynamic nature of student needs and learning.
- Research and highlight best practices in teaching and learning internationally and on the AURAK campus.
- Support and scaffold professors in their teaching and students in their learning.
- Design and create course content and test the enhancement of student learning.
- Train and tutor faculty in pedagogy through open and certified courses.
- Search for and contribute to research funding that supports teaching and learning.
- Support the enhancement of advising at AURAK.
Our Centers
The AURAK Writing Center (AWC) offers tailored support to students at every stage of the writing process. Whether you are brainstorming ideas, drafting an essay, or polishing your final draft, our experienced writing consultants are here to help. Shadi Yacoub Al Shidrawi PhD is the Writing Center Coordinator and can be contacted by faculty or students with questions related to the AWC.

The Math and Science Center is dedicated to fostering student success through peer tutoring in various Mathematics and Science courses. Our collaborative learning environment helps students deepen their understanding, sharpen problem-solving skills, and build confidence as they work toward achieving their academic goals.
