For new joiners, AURAK offers the facility of registering courses for the first academic semester as directed by the student’s advisor.

For sure! There are several research opportunities available on campus for students from all programs. Any new or current research opportunities are communicated with the students by the professors, either in class rooms or via email to their student accounts.

Internships are an integral part of our educational programs. In fact, one of the requirements of graduating from AURAK is to complete two 8-week internships in your field of study. The university offers the facility to place students in one of our partner companies or organization all across the UAE. This requirement allows the students to graduate with 16 weeks of practical experience, making them better equipped to face any challenges that might face them in the job market.

AURAK’s vibrant campus community provides the full-spectrum of campus programs with the AURAK Student Government Association (SGA), on-campus departments. Some of the many exciting student activities and events include Global Day, UAE National Day, study abroad, visiting exhibitions, museum trips, movie nights, and barbecues.

Yes! AURAK offers a four-installment payment plan per semester to lighten the load. For special exceptions please feel free to reach out to our finance department via email at student.finance@aurak.ac.ae

Once a student is enrolled at AURAK they can apply for a need-based financial aid grant. For more info on the procedure please reach out to Ms. Shamila Beevi at shamila.beevi@aurak.ac.ae

There are several part-time opportunities available on campus based on the need of the university’s varies departments. Availability of part-time opportunities is communicated with the student body over their AURAK email address.

AURAK aims to fully equip students for success. As such we offer several support services such as a dedicated writing center, a peer tutoring program as well as center for executive and professional education to aid them during their educational journey.

AURAK, in collaboration with RAK Hospital, manages and operates a Wellness Education and First Aid Station located in Building D, on the first floor. The services provided include general wellness education, daily preventative health care, and first aid services for students, faculty, and staff, by a trained, qualified Registered Nurse.

Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM).

AURAK provides individual personal counseling services for students needing assistance with various issues. The service allows students to discuss matters causing them concern or stress. The objective of counseling services is to provide needed assistance and support so that students can reach their highest potential personally and academically.

Yes, we do offer accommodation. Accommodation is available on campus, and fee for that service is AED 5,500 per semester for sharing rooms.

AURAK is not affiliated with any other American University, the similarity in the name comes from the fact that all American universities follow the American curriculum and are accredited in the USA.

The university requires no entry exams, however, the student is required to take a Mathematics placement test to assess their level in mathematics, for our admissions team to register them in the suitable mathematics course according to their grade in this test.

Also, if the student has no English Proficiency Certificate (is conditionally accepted), they are required to do an English Placement Test.

The placement test does not determine acceptance into the university and is held after the student is fully enrolled.

The student can take the pre-composition - ENGL 099 course in their first semester, and in the upcoming semesters, they can take the Composition - ENGL 101.

The English Proficiency Exam is an admission requirement from the MOE, and since AURAK is accredited from the MOE, we do require from the student to present an English Proficiency Certificate.

The minimum IELTS score required for full admissions is 5.0.

For the English Proficiency, the student can take any of EmSAT English/IELTS-Academic/ TOEFL*

However, a conditional admission offer can be granted on the condition that the above English proficiency requirement is fulfilled within the first semester.

Yes, we do offer accommodation. Accommodation is available on campus, and fee for that service is AED 5,500 per semester for sharing rooms.

For the student to be eligible to apply for the 70% merit-based scholarship, the student must achieve 99% or above in their high school percentage and IELTS score of 7.0 (or equivalent in TOEFL/EmSAT).

Yes, you can apply as a transfer student, as for the credit hour transfer from your university, the admissions team will have to review the official transcript first and the course syllabus for each completed course, then based on that they can evaluate which credit hours will be transferred. To be eligible for credit transfer, the university that the student studied in has to be accredited from MOE.

For the English Proficiency, the student can take any of EmSAT English/IELTS-Academic/ TOEFL, The minimum IELTS score required for full admissions is 5.0.

Admissions to the School of Engineering requires the following EmSAT:

• EmSAT English : score of 1100 and above.
• EmSAT Math: score of 900 and above.
• EmSAT Physics: score of 800 and above.

Admissions to the School of Business requires the following EmSAT:

• EmSAT Math: score of 600 and above.

Classes are on campus for graduate programs, except for EMBA, which is a hybrid program with 50% on campus attendance and 50% online.

In case of missing a class, the student needs to arrange with the student life department and the course’s professor.
