American University of Ras Al Khaimah Hosts Engineering Camp
The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) yesterday hosted an ‘Engineering Camp’, showing prospective students what the School of Engineering has to offer. A large number of people – mostly high school students – attended the one-day program at the University, and were given a taste of what life is like as a full-time AURAK student. The day was filled with activities, beginning with faculty lectures. Students learned more about the individual programs within AURAK’s School of Engineering and engaged in question and answer sessions with professors.

The visiting students were then given a tour of the AURAK campus and took part in a number of interactive workshops and demonstrations; the Department of Computer Science and Engineering hosted workshops in which students programmed their own robot and developed a working mobile-phone application.
Dean of the School of Engineering, Professor Mousa Mohsen, thanked all of the attendees for their participation and noted that he hopes they’ll be back in September as full-time students enrolled in one of AURAK’s ten engineering programs.
