AURAK Initiates International Partnership with Appalachian State University (USA)

Dr. Jesse Lutabingwa, Professor and Associate Vice Chancellor, Office of International Education and Development from Appalachian State University, visited American University of Ras Al Khaimah () in order to initiate an international partnership between the two institutions. Dr. Lutabingwa met with the President of , Professor Hassan Al Alkim, Dr. John Ryder, ’s Provost and relevant Deans and faculty.  The partnership will allow for exchange of students and faculty and collaborative research efforts between the universities.

“I am very impressed with your vision of where  is going,” said Dr. Lutabingwa in a discussion with President Hassan Al Alkim.

Ms. Heather McGann of ’s Office of International Student Programs (OIP) coordinated the visit by Dr. Jesse Lutabingwa of Appalachian State University. She is the initiator of the partnership through her role as Manager of OIP.

“Our goal is to enter into partnerships with premier U.S. and international universities in order to foster academic exchange of students and faculty and research opportunities for .  We believe Appalachian State University, will be a productive partner for many years to come,” said Ms. McGann on explaining the goals of the partnership.
