AURAK Students Celebrate 10 Years of Excellence

Anniversary Ceremony and AURAK’s SACSCOC Accreditation Celebration,” for its students to celebrate its ten-year anniversary and newly acquired accreditation through Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Anniversary Ceremony and AURAK’s SACSCOC Accreditation Celebration festivities was kicked-off Tuesday night by the Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Perry Fernandez, who welcomed students and introduced AURAK’s Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Success and Provost, Professor Stephen Wilhite. Professor Stephen addressed the students, attributing them with the credit for AURAK’s successful reputation, “AURAK is all about you. The reputation of AURAK is not going to be made by myself, the Deans, or any other administration. It is going to be made by you.” The night then segued into an awards presentation to both faculty and students by Professor Stephen and AURAK President, Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim and the cutting of a celebration cake. Students had the opportunity to win iPads by answering AURAK trivia questions and then were treated to a mystifying magic show. They ended the evening by rocking out to a DJ as they enjoyed dinner.

President Hassan was overjoyed to partake in the celebration of AURAK’s triumphs with his students, “The students are at the foundation and driving force of this University. It is only natural that they should share in the celebration of the University’s accomplishments, especially one as monumental as acquiring SACSCOC accreditation that will open various professional doors for them on an international level.”
