A delegation from Japan’s Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) visited the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) to discuss potential future cooperation.
A delegation from Japan’s Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) visited the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) to discuss potential future cooperation.
AURAK is developing international exchange programs for its students and is expanding its research collaboration projects.
The group from APU consisted of Dr. Deguchi Haruaki, President of the university, and Ms. Tomoe Uno, Admissions Officer. They came to AURAK to see the university campus and explore possible areas of collaboration.
More than 5,800 students attend APU, which is situated in Beppu, in Oita Prefecture, on Kyushu, the southernmost main island in Japan. The student body is very diverse, coming from 89 different countries and regions. Some 50.6 percent of the students are from an international background. The academic staff come from 28 different countries.
APU has two programs of undergraduate study: the College of Asia Pacific Studies and the College of International Management. It also has two programs of graduate study: the Graduate School of Asia Pacific Studies and the Graduate School of Management. The university teaches courses in both Japanese and English.
In the Japan University Rankings 2018 it was a Top 5 private university and came 21st overall. According to the QS World Rankings: Asia 2019, it scored 100% for Internationalization and had a Top 25 MBA.
AURAK is a nonprofit, government-owned institution of higher education which provides the local, regional and international communities with a North American-style education integrated with Arab customs and traditions. AURAK is licensed by the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates and has been accredited in the United States of America by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) since December 2018. AURAK offers a total of 22 accredited undergraduate and graduate programs across a wide range of disciplines.
