Lee and Sharon Waller present at Innovation Arabia 8 Conference in Dubai

Dr. Lee Waller and Dr. Sharon Waller, a husband and wife team from American University of Ras Al Khaimah, presented a workshop at the Innovation Arabia 8 Conference held in Dubai. The conference was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU). Their presentation was featured under the section, “Teaching and Learning Towards Smart Learning” and was entitled, “Low-Cost Methodology for Delivering Instructor Generated Video Using Cloud Technology.”

The chief purpose of the presentation was to engage educators from various fields in the development and delivery of affordable instructor generated, digital, didactic video resources. “Under the visionary oversight of our President, Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim,  provides wonderful digital resources to engage our student body and provide a high quality educational experience. This experience includes access to faculty generated video resources to help students succeed in their chosen fields of study,” said Dr. Lee Waller.

In April of 2014, Dr. Lee Waller was awarded the prestigious International Award for Best Practice in Engaging Emerging Technologies by the Online Learning Consortium (Previously Sloan Consortium for Online Learning) in the United States. The Wallers have also been invited as feature speakers for the 7 Annual International Symposium on Emerging Technologies for Online Learning to be held in Dallas, Texas on 22-24 April 2015.

Dr. Lee Waller is the Director of the Institutional Effectiveness Office and teaches Mathematics at American University of Ras Al Khaimah. Dr. Sharon Waller serves as a Student Counselor at AURAK.
