Masdar Institute visit to the American University of Ras Al Khaimah

A group from Masdar Institute of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi – UAE, which included Dr. Ahmed Al Jabri (Mechanical and Materials Engineering), Reem Orfali (Student Enrollment Manager) and Shaikha Omran Al Shamsi (MI student in Microsystem Engineering) visited AURAK and met both the students and the faculty members in the School of Engineering on Feb 17, 2015. A large number of engineering students and faculty participated in the meeting.

The visiting team explained that the Masdar Institute is the world’s first graduate-level university dedicated to research in advanced energy and sustainable technologies developed in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Masdar Institute offers a full scholarship for research assistantships and post-doctoral opportunities. The institute has a sustainable campus and state of the art research facilities that offers nine master’s degree programs.

The Masdar Institute team encouraged recently graduated and senior students to apply for the scholarship. A limited number of Summer Internships are available, starting June 14th. A list of projects that students can apply for will be listed on the Outreach webpage in February. Housing and monthly allowance are provided.
