Professor Omar Fajjawi was invited to speak on Ras Al Khaimah Broadcasting Radio

Professor Omar Fajjawi, professor of Arabic literature at the AURAK School of Arts and Science, was invited to speak on Ras Al Khaimah Broadcasting radio program, Mutamayyizoon.

Speaking on the show, Professor Fajjawi talked about World Teacher’s Day, celebrated on October 5th, and highlighted the importance of education and science, and the effect they have on modern society.

Discussing the role of teachers in the UAE, he referred to the words of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, who explained that teachers are ‘the builders of generations’ when it comes to developing a nation.

Professor Fajjawi also mentioned an initiative started by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, entitled ‘The Arab Reading Challenge’, which emphasizes the value of reading, on both an individual and collective level.  Professor Fajjawi praised the initiative as a huge gesture, which will encourage people educate themselves and to think critically.  He praised H.H. Sheikh Mohammed, stating that he is a great leader and someone for the people to believe in.

Professor Fajjawi also expressed his pleasure at seeing such an initiative as he believes it will reignite people’s interest in reading.

Also taking part in the program alongside the AURAK professor were Shaikha Al Sharhan and Asmaa Humaidan, as well as the show’s host, Abdulrahman Saqr.
