RAK Research and Innovation Center Participates in the 4th Regional Technical Coordination Meeting (ICARDA)
RAKRIC participated in the 4th Regional Technical Coordination Meeting (ICARDA), as part of the strong relationship between the two research centers, RAKRIC has actively participated in the important annual meeting. A presentation by Omar Akash, a research engineer at the center was delivered under the title; “Preliminary Results of a New Closed Greenhouse Design with Improved Cooling System”.

RAKRIC participated in the 4th Regional Technical Coordination Meeting (ICARDA), as part of the strong relationship between the two research centers, RAKRIC has actively participated in the important annual meeting. A presentation by Omar Akash, a research engineer at the center was delivered under the title; “Preliminary Results of a New Closed Greenhouse Design with Improved Cooling System”.
Participants from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and Yemen attended the event. The annual meeting had three main targets:
- To bring together AP researchers and scientists with international and regional experts for exchange of information and ideas on sustainable development for the Arabian Peninsula.
- To discuss and review regional research activities and experiences on rangeland rehabilitation, irrigated forages, water use efficiency, and protected agriculture.
- To review, discuss and evaluate the research activities in APRP in general presented by researchers and scientists from different countries. Recommend activities for next season and develop detailed work plan for the assigned activities for each country.
