RAKRIC wins the 2016 Emirates Green Building Council “Green Building Research Award”

RAKRIC won the prestigious Emirates Green Building award for the year 2016 in the Green Building Research category. For the 4th year, the EmiratesGBC Awards Program honoured companies that demonstrated clear implementation of sustainable design, construction and/or operation of buildings and structures across the MENA region. Chairman of EmiratesGBC, Mr. Saeed Al Abbar quoted in his welcome address “This year has seen the remarkable growth of participation from within UAE, Qatar, Jordon and Lebanon. The competition in each category was quite stiff as they received many submissions”. Among the shortlisted company for the green building research category were Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority and RAK Research and Innovation Center. The Jury for the Awards were from diverse background and the awards selection was audited by KPMG. RAKRIC clearly should out for its extraordinary research work and quality submission which demonstrated a regional model for the sustainable built environment that is world class and replicable. It dealt with the performance of materials, components, equipment or completed buildings and was clearly applicable to MENA region. It provided replicable verified data which can be used by the industry in the further development of green buildings.
