The Office of Research and Community Service at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) plays a vital role in managing and overseeing all aspects related to research and community service. This includes the appointment of distinguished fellows and scholars, overseeing scholarly publication processes, managing sponsored programs and community service programs, and administering the RAK Research and Innovation Center (RAKRIC) and the Center for Executive and Professional Education.
Our office is committed to supporting and enhancing research and scholarly activities at AURAK by providing research mentoring and professional development opportunities and fostering collaborations among faculty members both within and outside the University. Moreover, by offering services that address community needs, we strive to strengthen the connection between AURAK's faculty, staff, and students with the broader community. Our ultimate goal is to establish mutually beneficial partnerships between the University and the community, which will contribute to the growth and development of both entities.

Mission Statement
The Office of Research and Community Service assists and supports all students and faculty in engaging in high-impact research and scholarly activities and facilitates the engagement of AURAK faculty, staff, and students with the community, including industry, businesses, organizations, and government entities.
Vision Statement
To prepare leaders and entrepreneurs by engaging students, faculty, and staff in high-impact research and community outreach and creative initiatives involving local, regional, and global partners.
Goals
- To enhance the research productivity of the faculty and encourage students’ involvement.
- To provide analysis, research, and information to the School Deans as they work with faculty to develop and implement processes and procedures to encourage scholarship and research.
- Assist faculty in looking for funding opportunities and collaborations.
- To review and implement research and community service policies and procedures.
- To develop and execute community engagement projects and programs with industry, businesses, organizations, and government entities.

Dr. Tahseen is the Associate Provost for Research and Community Service, the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at AURAK (ACE), and an associate professor in the Business School. In addition, Dr. Tahseen is a Certified Entrepreneurship Educator and external reviewer with the Directorate of Higher Education Reviews Authority (DHR) Bahrain, Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA), and National Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (Saudi Arabia). Dr. Tahseen invented the SECURE (patented) system to assist start-ups in evaluating business plans (https://www.securecanvas.net). He is a member of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and Data Central. Dr. Tahseen specializes in designing and delivering technology-enhanced curricula, and his research interests are entrepreneurial behavior, start-up business models, and innovation. In addition, Dr. Tahseen is a quantitative researcher specializing in structural equation Modeling and machine learning tests. Dr. Tahseen has authored several Scopus (Q1)-indexed publications in premium journals and case studies, published in Palgrave McMillan's bestselling entrepreneurship textbooks in the UK.
