Wayne State University
3+2 Program
This partnership provides AURAK students seeking the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with the opportunity to also earn a bachelor’s degree at AURAK and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in the United States in just five years instead of a typical six-year time commitment.
Students study full time at AURAK for their first three years and spend year four and year five at Wayne State University (WSU) working on their master’s degree program. As a part of this unique agreement the courses taken during the first year of the master’s degree at WSU are transferred back to AURAK and used to finish year four of the bachelor’s degree at AURAK. The student then continues to study for one additional year at WSU to earn their master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, upon graduation from WSU students can take advantage of the F1-OPT (Optional Practical Training) program. This program currently allows students to work full-time in the USA for three years following graduation from a STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) which is an excellent opportunity to gain practical work experience in the United States.
