Dr. Beza Negash Getu
Associate Professor – Electronics and Communications Engineering
Beza Negash Getu is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering (EECE) at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK). From August 2011- April 2016, he had been working in the position of Assistant Professor at AURAK and was promoted to Associate Professor in May 2016. He received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Addis Ababa University, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 1997, the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree from Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark, in 2003. He worked in the field of wireless communications focusing on Smart Antennas and MIMO systems during his Ph.D. In 2002/2003, he spent six months in the Wireless Communication Group at the Swiss Center for Electronics and Micro-technology (CSEM), Neuchâtel, Switzerland working in the same areas. He had been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Massachusetts (UMASS), Amherst from Nov. 2004 to Dec. 2005 working on MIMO and compact antenna arrays. He worked as an Assistant Professor in the Telecom Engineering Department at the College of Telecommunications and Information Technology (CTIT), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from June 2007 till July 2011 with main duties in Teaching, Research and Advising. During his academic career in the different institutions, he authored and coauthored several journal and conference publications.
