Architectural Day Spring 2015
The Architectural Day that took place on March 11, 2015 is an opportunity for everyone to visit the school of Engineering and meet our architecture academic members of staff at AURAK and students of architecture, engineering and many other students from AURAK.
The Architectural Day that took place on March 11, 2015 is an opportunity for everyone to visit the school of Engineering and meet our architecture academic members of staff at AURAK and students of architecture, engineering and many other students from AURAK. The exhibition which was the major component of the architectural day aimed to present the student work and projects of the newly established program architecture at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, it is an outstanding five years studies program towards a Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch). The Architecture Department is also intended to have the Architecture Day as a free one-day annual opportunity to provide also the interesting information and design innovation studies alive and successful program for the years to come.
Close to 150 engineering and architecture students and from other schools came together on March 11 to explore this important occasion of our Architectural Day. In addition of the architectural exhibition at the Building B-Deans’ main Lobby that featured work from all of our new students from the architectural program. The exhibition provides the school community and the public the opportunity to see the architectural imagination, creative design solutions and drawing and modelling techniques explored by students in our newly founded program of architecture at the School of Engineering.
The students’ designs were reviewed and judged carefully by a panel of the architectural faculty members and the external viewers, Dr. Suk-Hee Yun and Architect Sarah Alkhawajah. The event’s program was very successful, it included a tour through the work of students’ exhibition which was followed by the ongoing projects of architectural design discussion and jury. At the end of the day the program was concluded by a Guest Speaker; Dr. Suk-Hee Yun from the Department of Architecture at ALHOSN University in Abu Dhabi, who delivered a presentation entitled “Nothing but Architectural Dialogues”.
