Arts and Sciences Discusses Research in Education

The School of Arts and Sciences has hosted a discussion session focusing on research within the field of education currently being carried out in the school.

The School of Arts and Sciences has hosted a discussion session focusing on research within the field of education currently being carried out in the school.

The morning provided an opportunity for faculty within the school to socialize and discuss in greater detail the nature of their research.

Dr. Eugenie Samier, who teaches within the university’s Master of Education in Educational Leadership (MEEL) program, presented research that she has carried out with Amal Al-Gallaf on ‘Constructing Modern Women’s Leadership Identities in the Arabian Gulf: Synthesising Roles from Culture, Tradition and Modernisation’.

Ms. Nausheen Shafiq, who is an English-language instructor, presented her research proposal in an interactive session which looked at the impact that reading has on the brain, and whether students of the current generation are being assigned sufficient reading tasks at university.
