ASCE Regional AUTOCAD Winners

American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Student Chapter at AURAK, led by Dr. Fayez Moutassem, has recently won for the second year in a row the first place in the ASCE regional virtual AutoCAD competition, which was organized by the American University of Sharjah. This exciting challenge targeted undergraduate civil engineering students across the UAE to test their AutoCAD skills and drafting capabilities following competition guidelines. AURAK’s ASCE chapter president ‘Mr. Shawki Zaher’ has won the first place and will be receiving a certificate and a cash money prize. Below are the names of the competition's winners:

First Place: Mr. Shawki Elawadi Zaher, AURAK
Second Place: Ms. Nagia Aboelyousr, AUS
Third Place: Mr. Mohammed Rashed Ali Yahmoor Alshehhi, KU

Congratulations to Mr. Shawki Zaher and to AURAK on this important achievement!

The ASCE student chapter and club activities are valuable for the growth and development of undergraduate engineers because they help develop teamwork, leadership, creativity, and project management skills. Civil engineering students hold elections yearly to choose their ASCE student president, secretary, treasurer, and executive committee members.
